YTD Return Formula |
Using the YTD Return formula to measure investment gain/loss with dividends reinvested for the current calendar year, we present YTD Returns for any stock in our coverage universe!
The YTD Return formula calculates a year to date return, and is a measure of the total return for a given investment year-to-date for the current calendar year. Choosing the current calendar year for a measurement period is on the one hand completely arbitrary (why not choose trailing twelve months, trailing two years, etc.), but on the other hand extremely useful in the context of our country's tax system which taxes gains and income on a calendar year basis. Researching a company's Year-To-Date Return (YTD Return for short) is good practice for investors — and it is also important to factor in dividends, because a stock's YTD return is more than just the change in stock price, if that company pays a dividend. Our website aims to empower investors by performing the YTD return calculation (with dividends reinvested) across all stocks in our our coverage universe. To begin, choose a company from one of the lists on this page, or enter the stock symbol into the box at the top of the page menu. Thanks for visiting YTDReturn.com! |
